The Institute of Archaeology and Heritage Studies is proud to introduce MuseQR, a digital interpretation platform that brings museum collections to life.
Now being implemented in collaboration with the Central Cultural Fund at the Galle Maritime Archaeology Museum, MuseQR allows visitors to go beyond traditional labels. By scanning QR codes placed near artifacts, you can explore stories, images, audio, and more — in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.

MuseQR was also successfully demonstrated at the “Godawaya Research Symposium & Artifact Exhibition” recently concluded at the BMICH, receiving positive response from both professionals and the public.
This initiative makes heritage more engaging, inclusive, and accessible to everyone, while preserving the unique beauty of museum displays.
Visit the Galle Maritime Archaeology Museum and try it out for yourself. You can also explore more at https://nsd.ccf.gov.lk/museqr.
